The answer is none. Both of them was rendered using the knowledge of painters about the highlight, shadow distribution rules. they looks very similiar to the rendering pics using shading models. But the generation speed is very fast. Combined with CSG tree, this algorithm can render very complicate structures on the base of simple image processing methods.
